This Couple's Fourth Pregnancy Went From Miracle To Heart-Wrenching Choice

Making plans is great, but life has a way of dashing even the best laid plans. And while most of us like surprises, they can be trying when they work against those carefully plotted plans and turn hopes and dreams on their heads. Although those surprises are unfortunate and occasionally tragic, they do a great job of revealing character.
For a couple considering one last pregnancy, life had a massive surprise in store - and the surprise was loaded with the potential for tragedy. It's hard to imagine any tougher decisions in life than the one they faced.

 

Chloe and Rohan Dunstan already had a big family. However, with three sons aged 1, 2, and 3, the Australian couple still wanted a daughter, so they decided to try one last time. And, sure enough, Chloe got pregnant again.

Chloe and Rohan were overjoyed. Already lucky, they had been blessed once more. This pregnancy was different though. Chloe's belly grew faster than it had before, and she just kept getting bigger and bigger. 

 

An ultrasound revealed the reason: triplets! Suddenly, their family was about to double in size. And, among the three babies was the daughter Chloe and Rohan had longed for. 

 

Sadly, the ultrasound also revealed that one of the babies wasn't getting enough oxygen - and it just happened to be the girl. Just like that, Chloe and Rohan's dream turned into a terrifying choice. With the little girl dying in the womb, they could induce a birth, which would put all three babies in peril, or they could let their daughter die and save the two boys. It was a crushing blow.
